Soave's Castle 'Castello di Soave'

 After that romantic date, if you know you know, it's time to save your princess as you are now a knight in a shining armour, with your trusty sword, and shield you make your way to Soave's castle, or as you would say it in Italian 'il castello di Soave'. 

You are about to go and you realise, that you have no idea where this castle is, and that's where I come in and help, the Castle is roughly 33km from the city centre, so you'll need a ride, not a horse, but a car with a navigator just to switch things up a bit, and so you won't get lost. Insert the address 'Via Castello Scagliero', enter the postcode '37038', and you are set to go to save your princess, or if you want to flip it wait for your knight in shining armour.


And we have arrived after at our castle, the dragon is not in today so the job was quite easy, but now you decide to learn more about the castle and it's history. And it goes like this, Soave Castle has witnessed various battles and changes in ownership. It played a significant role in the medieval conflicts between the Veronese and Paduan city-states. In the 14th century, the Scaligeri family, who ruled over Verona, took control of the castle and expanded its fortifications. Over time, Soave Castle underwent numerous architectural changes and renovations. It is known for its well-preserved medieval walls, drawbridges, and defensive towers. The castle also boasts an impressive inner courtyard and a robust gatehouse.


The Castle is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 - 12:00 and 15:00 - !8:00 Summer time, and 9:00 - 12:00, then 14:00 - 16:00 Winter time for a fee of €7 per person, Castle is NOT opened on Mondays.

 We have arrived in Verona, it's a good sunny day, with the typical Italian breeze, a lot of chattering, you just feel in the moment, so much that you decide to have a quick lunch in the 'Peperino Pizza & Grill' in Piazzetta Municipio 10 (Verona).  But as you get out you see this huge building, similar to the Colosseum, but it is not, this is our first stop of the Verona tour, The Arena.  The Arena is a Roman amphitheatre located in Piazza Bra. Hellas Verona

 We have now made a quick stop, and what do we see, a huge building where people go to see a sort of entertainment that is different from The Arena, much more physical, involving two teams of 11 players each, and a football, with over 39000 people watching it in this building. This is football, and this building you are seeing is the 8th biggest football stadium in Italy, host of Hellas Verona football team. I present to you..... The Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium. The Marcantonio Bentegodi is located in Piazzale Olimpia, yes you could technically say that the stadium is located in Olympus. However this is also home of Serie A side Hellas Verona, this club was funded in 1903 by group of high school students, the club was asked to be called 'Hellas', as a request from their professor in classics.
